If you’re experiencing a feeling of tightness and discomfort in your abdomen, it might be a sign of occasional bloating — a common condition that affects as many as 1 in 7 Americans each week.
Occasional bloating can have many different causes, including eating too quickly, eating too much at once and eating foods that can trigger gas, like brussels sprouts or beans. What’s more, some people may be more sensitive to certain foods and more likely to experience symptoms like gas, abdominal discomfort, and bloating.
While not causes for concern in most cases, these symptoms can be annoying and embarrassing. The good news is that there are things you can do to improve your gut health and help prevent occasional gas and bloating before they start.
